You plug in your Insta360 Link. Blue LED lights up.
But no camera feed, nothing shows up in your apps.
Frustrating? Yes.
Fixable? Definitely.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting your Insta360 Link detected and working.
1. Check Compatibility First
Start with the basics.
Even if your setup looks fine, double-check the official system requirements:
- Windows or macOS version must be supported
- Processor and RAM should meet the minimums
- USB 3.0 is required for stable performance
Then go into the video app (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and make sure Insta360 Link is selected as your default camera.
2. Enable Camera Access on Your System
On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera
- Make sure Camera access for this device is on
- Allow desktop apps access (important for Zoom, OBS, etc.)
On macOS:
- Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy
- Select Camera from the left pane
- Make sure apps like Insta360, Zoom, etc. are checked
If permissions are blocked, the webcam won’t show up anywhere—simple as that.
3. Try a Different USB Port or Cable
Sometimes it’s just a bad connection.
- Use a direct USB 3.0 port (no hub or adapter)
- Switch USB ports
- Try a different USB cable
- Test it on another computer to rule out PC issues
If it works on another machine, your problem is local.
4. Update Drivers (Windows Users)
Old or missing drivers are common culprits.
- Go to Device Manager
- Find your webcam (under Cameras or USB Devices)
- Right-click > Update driver
- Choose Search automatically for drivers
If that doesn’t help, uninstall the device, restart, and let Windows reinstall the driver clean.
5. Update the Firmware
Even undetected cameras can often be updated manually.
How to do it:
- Plug in the Insta360 Link
- Tap the touch key 3 times
- Hold the touch key for 5 seconds (white LED should stay solid)
- Download firmware update from Insta360’s website (They have a complete guide for it)
- Drag the file into the “INSTA360” USB drive
- Tap again to begin update (blue LED will blink)
Once done, the camera restarts and should now be ready.
6. Still Not Working? Contact Support or contact us
Tried everything and it’s still not detected?
Might be a faulty unit.
Get in touch with Insta360 Support. If you’re under warranty, you should be eligible for a repair or replacement.
